The Village GP Blackrock’s newest Dogtor began training early; since becoming a certified therapy dog in 2021, Dogtor Orla has made faces light up everywhere she goes. She loves playing fetch and chasing after balls, even better if she can do it at the beach where she loves having a swim and sniffing around! Being a Dogtor can be hard work, so she loves to sleep for 8 to ten a day! There’s a rumour that she dreams about helping her friendly patients! She also loves watching TV shows that feature animals.
She may not be as needy as her colleague Dogtor Paddy, but she still loves getting scratches from patients!
Her approach to patient care is she will feel a patient’s energy as soon as she walks into a room and instantly know what they need!
When she drives to work, Dogtor Orla always sits in the front seat! Orla is an Irish girls name that means Golden Princess! But even this princess isn’t allowed extra dinners!
“I love getting to meet new patients! I never know who’s more excited, me or them or me! I especially like it if they bring a ball for me to chase around or want to rub my belly. I take my role as a Dogtor very seriously and always look for a good napping buddy!”
